Women’s History Month: WaveLink, Inc. Recognizes Naomi Parker Fraley
Women in History – Naomi Parker Fraley (1921-2018)
WaveLink, Inc. proudly commemorates Women’s History Month by recognizing the pioneering contributions of famous women in math and science. This week, we’re highlighting Naomi Parker Fraley, famously credited with being the inspiration behind the Rosie the Riveter posters of WWII. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Naomi and her sister Ada joined other women at Alameda Naval Air Station to help repair combat-damaged aircraft. A photographer snapped a picture of Naomi operating an industrial machine in heels, and the rest is history.
