Recognizing Famous Black Alabamians- Lionel Richie

WaveLink, Inc. is celebrating Black History Month with a special focus on recognizing the significant contributions of Black Alabamians.

Born in Tuskegee, Alabama, Lionel Richie rose to fame in the 1970s as part of The Commodores, with famous hits like “Easy” and “Three Times a Lady”. As a solo artist, Lionel became one of the best-selling artists of all time, with over 100 million records sold worldwide. His tenth studio album, Tuskegee, is a nod to his hometown and Alabama roots. Lionel has also committed to pouring back into his hometown of Tuskegee by creating a community park named “Hello”, after his hit single by the same name.
